These saplings are growing in the rocks at the edge of my garden. They are 3-5 cm tall. If they survive tropical downpours, baking heat, 90%+ humidity, my dog, the gardeners and hundreds of other challenges
they might well grow to look like this
The difference between the trees in the two images, is time and persistence.
The mature tree has weathered storms, survived gardeners (if you zoom into the bole of the tree you can see the scars of tree "surgery" from years gone by).
I recently commented that overnight success takes five years.
Too often we are like the saplings and compare ourselves on LinkedIn, Insta, FB where ever, to the mature tree.
