Sensation: The pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain
Anticipation: IF sensation is physical, sensation is the emotional face of motivation revolving around fear and hope
Belonging: We are gregarious creatures by nature and our sense of acceptance and status are powerful motivators...
Capability
Centers on: knowing what to do; finding the new behavior simple or straightforward to perform (including not going too much against accepted norms) ; time efficient and; easy to work into your existing routine
Prompt
Focuses on how to build in triggers into your environment that act as reminders to perform the new behavior
Sparks help those with high ability and low motivation
Signals for those with high ability and high motivation and
Facilitators work best for high motivation and low ability
